With its beautiful ruby-red color and violet glints, the Merlot del Piave DOC provides aromatic hints of black cherry, red cherry, and raspberry, accompanied by pleasant spicy notes, due to being aged in casks for several months Velvety, dry and full-bodied, it has a persistent and slightly herbaceous undertone on the palate. The alchemy between the climate and the fertile soil created by the Piave River’s alluvial deposits allows this Merlot to express the variety’s typical aromas to the utmost.
Soft and harmonious, this all-round wine pairs perfectly with tasty dishes such as cappellacci with porcini mushrooms, or pureed pumpkin with crispy bacon, sliced beef on a bed of rocket salad, or with delicious oven-roasted pork.
After a soft destemming and pressing, the must macerates for 15 days at a temperature of 23-25°C. This is followed by aging in stainless steel vats and then in oak barrels for several months.
Store in a cool, dark place at 12-18°C.
Serve at 18-20°C.
